Shaw Android Apps: Video on Demand and EXO WiFi Finder

Shaw Video On Demand

The app suits people who watch fewer shows live because of a PVR. When a recording is missed or the PVR is unreliable, the app shows whether a show is available on demand. The author also found it faster than the PVR menu, which needed a lot of scrolling when checking several channels for a prime-time show.

After entering your Shaw account details you can order a title directly. The app is only a remote browser and ordering tool: you cannot watch video on the device, and you cannot control playback.

• Order from the phone or tablet and watch on the Shaw digital box.
• Keep a Wishlist of titles to watch.

Shaw EXO WiFi

In major cities Shaw subscribers could use Shaw hotspots. The app works like a WiFi finder: with internet access it shows EXO WiFi spots on a map and tells you which are near you. The selection was limited at the time and was expected to grow.
