Rumour: New Google Now Features Coming November 13
Google Now is already a pretty great service that has been steadily improving and according to a new report, some more big improvements are on the way. According to tech site Wired, Google will be pouring some new features into Google Now on November 13 (just a few days away!).
One of the new features that will be added into Google Now is the ability for Google Now to clarify commands by asking you questions. Here’s the example given:
“…so you might say “text Jennifer” and it will reply “which Jennifer,” and then ask you to dictate the message”
This would definitely make some hands free stuff a lot easier!
Another change to Google Now will be even better location based cards. The example they give for this is that if you’re at Yellowstone park, cards will appear in your Google Now section showing you geyser times so that you don’t miss out! Pretty nifty.
The last change mentioned is the ability for Google Now to search apps based on your question and complete tasks within the app. Again, here is their example:
“So, you might search for a restaurant, and an option in the results shows up for OpenTable, which you’ll be able to fire up and make a reservation.”
Of course, none of this is “confirmed” yet but we won’t have all that long to wait before finding out if Wired got this stuff right! I look forward to the changes that Google brings to Google Now. I can see all these changes being very beneficial for day to day use and I can’t wait to give them a try!
