PayPal App Gets Updated With New Features And Holo Design
The Next time you go into a fast food restaurant or coffee shop you might find yourself pulling your phone out of your pocket instead of your wallet. PayPal has released an update to their iOS and Android apps that should make it easy for you to check in and pay.
Once you’ve entered the new app you’ll see a slide-out menu and in it a new tab: Shop. What it does is give you a list of places, based on your location that have deals with PayPal, so you can use your account to pay the bill. If you tap on one it will reveal a blue “P” logo that you must swipe to the right in order to pay. You can add a photo to your profile to make sure the cashier recognizes you. After you swipe to pay, on the other end, the cashier will sync your check-in with TouchBistro’s POS. After this, the funds necessary to pay the bill are taken from your PayPal balance or associated debit or credit card.
Design-wise both apps got a new look, but it’s the Android app that got the best design update. Following Google’s design guidelines, PayPal introduced the “hamburger” icon to prompt swiping from the left of the screen. The app also uses a clean Roboto-like font and the colors chosen for the app go very well with the ones on Google’s Play apps.
All the previous functions like monitoring account activity and transferring money are all present, but they have also been redesigned. You can catch the download on the source link below or by scanning the QR code. Don’t forget to leave your feedback on the app on the comment section below.
