Google Maps received a update today.
Transit users may rejoice after this update, as it seems to focus a lot on buses and other forms of transit. Also advertised as having better battery management for navigational use.
Googles list of recent changes is as follows:
- Get GPS Stop-by-stop public transit directions in Navigation.
- Get directions in less clicks with the updated directions experience
- Receive search suggestions based on previous direction destinations and visited place pages
- Improved battery power management for Navigation
As an everyday transit user myself, this comes as a great update for me. Not only dose this provide a great deal for bus users, but helps to save a little extra battery while doing it. We all know in the Android world, battery is everything.
I am very curious as to how much battery we would actually be saving. Anyone care to share their own results?
Google Maps can be updated via the Android Market.
