According to a new report coming out of Reuters, Microsoft may be bringing their voice assistant Cortana to both Android and iOS in the near future as a standalone app. As you all know, Microsoft hasn’t faired particularly well in the mobile industry as Windows Phone has consistently lagged behind the big guns, Android and iOS. Recently, Microsoft changed up their strategy a little bit and have been bringing their core software and applications to other platforms in order to expand their software user base and taking Cortana cross platform is allegedly another step in that direction.
Though I’m not personally a big fan of Windows Phone, I have been impressed with Cortana the few times I’ve seen it in action. Whether or not I would actually begin using it regularly I can’t say but options are always nice so I would definitely welcome the AI. Plus, I was a big Halo fan and chatting it up with Cortana would be pretty sweet.
