In between watching the 24hr news cycle as I am sure many have been doing this week I had to go get groceries which is a pain in the ass on the best days. However to my delight I noticed that Checkout 51 was finally available on android to bring a little more enjoyment to grocery shopping.
Not familiar with Checkout 51? Well read further and I assure you it is not a complete waste of time.
Checkout 51 is an app that offers discounts on every day groceries and takes very little effort on your part to reap the benefits. The steps are as follows:
1: Take a look at the current offers available in the app which update every Thursday.
2: Go to your regular grocery store to purchase any of the promotional items assuming it is groceries you normally get or want to try.
3: Upload your receipt into the app and get money back.
Pretty simple, and when it has offers like Kraft Dinner you can be sure you will not be forced to buy obscure locally grown macrobiotic grizzly bear cheese just to save 15 cents. How the rewards work is you will get a certain amount of money back per item you buy and verify, once your account balance reaches $20 you will receive a cheque in the mail.
It certainly won’t bring you into extreme couponer status but it’s not a bad way to save some money.
