tl;dr – Not a bad time killer…
I remember getting ‘games’ on my old Palm Pilot when I first got it… they were simplistic… ultra simplistic. I remember one we used to spend hours on at university while sitting through lectures. SFCave.
It was awesome. Press and it rose up, don’t press and it dropped. And the screen would scroll right to left putting things in your way. You got points for being able to go further without crashing.
Sure enough, this style of gaming has not only stuck around, but evolved and adapted … Bubble Shuttle is one of these evolutionary steps.
You are a kid who’s built a rocket in the back yard. You launch and continue to ‘thrust up’ by pressing on the screen… let go of the screen and you start to fall back towards the earth. You’ll get more points the higher you go.
What prevents you from just holding down forever is that various objects are flying around. Get hit by any of them and you go back to the sandbox. Simple enough. But challenging enough that you just have to keep trying to get higher.
The higher you go, the more the objects change (in the screenshots they show aliens and spaceships… I haven’t gotten that far yet), as well as the pattern that they fly in changes. Sounds easy, but you’ll be playing for some time trying to master it… and you won’t.
Hey, it’s hard to do screen shots while playing.
