AOKP Rom for Galaxy Nexus, Hide Buttons for Full Screen Toggle Added

I recently posted about a tweak that would allow you to hide the navigational buttons at the bottom of your Galaxy Nexus. If you missed that, you can find it here.

Now thanks to the developers of AOKP, starting at build 25, they have now included the ability to hide the navigation bar and call it back again at will.

So if you don’t like the idea of permanently losing your buttons from flashing the mod posted earlier, here is the perfect solution. Within this rom you will have to add it to the power menu by going to (Settings > Rom Control > Power Menu Options > Show Navigation Bar Toggle)

Now you can either have your nexus at a true full screen use, or when your surfing the net or playing your favourite game. To call your buttons back, simply hold the power button once again and hit the toggle switch.

If you are deciding hide the navigation buttons for full time use, clearly you will need an alterative to the buttons to get around. The same guy who originally posted this tweak before it was added in to this rom showed an app called LMT which is not currently on the market, but I will post links below.

LMT allows you to use swipe gestures by using two fingers, or drawing shapes such as a square or diamond.

If this is something you think you would be interested in, I suggest checking them out using the links below.

The AOKP doesn’t just work on the Galaxy Nexus anymore, they have also expanded to other devices such as:

  • Galaxy Nexus GSM/LTE
  • Nexus S / 4G
  • HTC Incredible
  • Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G / WiFi / Verizon
  • Motorola Xoom Verizon (no mention of Wifi version yet)
  • HTC Evo 4G
  • HP Touchpad
  • Galaxy Tab 7 Verizon
  • Adding more devices over time!

So if you have any of these devices, check em out. Sadly a lot of the supported devices are American versions, but at least we still have the Tab, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S to play around with.
