One of the best things about Android for me are the native and first party apps. Google Maps is the best example of this as nothing comes close to it on other mobile platforms. I’ve always however found the music app to be lacking. It’s functional but not particularly eye catching or feature rich. I personally use DoubleTwist for its syncing abilities.
Google promised new features like iTunes streaming back in May at their I/O event but we’ve yet to see these features. Thanks to this recent leak though, we can see the next version of the music app for Android. It looks much cleaner and attractive but more importantly seems to hint at system-wide interface changes like the inclusion of a menu and home button within the app in future Android firmwares.
The app is available for download but it’s not very smooth and quite buggy. What do you think? Let us know if you try it!
