So I woke this morning and I needed to add something new to my day, other then writing and cleaning my house.
I hopped on Google and grabbed the latest APK for Netflix and to my surprise it actually started playing videos off Netflix. On previous attempts, I always got that error like many others saying that it’s not yet available in my location, blah blah blah.
This time around on my Rooted Galaxy S II from Bell using a Factory Unlock code, it finally works and I have no explanation why.
So I ask to help me out, and perhaps yourself as well. If you are a Netflix subscriber, try it on your phone and see if you can get it to work.
Here is the APK I used to download it ( Netflix APK DL Link ).
Update: Though I have not tried it myself, this version of Netflix is also suppose to support Honeycomb tablets as well. I can confirm that this is working on Honeycomb tablets. successful on Motorola Xoom. Also successful on Galaxy S II and Nexus S (Vancouver / Surrey area) on Rogers.
Update #2: A friend of mine mentioned that she couldn’t get the Netflix app to work like many others. She alternatively uses her Android Browser to watch through the Netflix website. It may not be the most ideal way, but if it works, it’s better then nothing.
I didn’t do anything special to my phone. Still running Stock 2.3.3 on my Galaxy S II from bell, I did unlock it using a factory unlock code. It is Rooted, but only to uninstall bloatware. for me it works on both Wi-fi and 3G in the Surrey/Vancouver area
Please post your story if you try this, let us know who it’s working for and who it’s not, followed by your phone, carrier, and location would be awesome.
