Android Facebook Gets Native

One of the main things that the majority of people do on their smartphones nowadays is social networking.  When people pick up a new phone they’ll quickly head over to the market and search for Facebook and Twitter and…well whatever other social networking sites they use.

The Facebook app for Android has long been scrutinized for under-performing compared to its iOS counterpart.  The reason for this is that the Android app never utilized Android’s native code but rather relied on an HTML “webview.”  So for the past while now the heads at Facebook have been trying to force employees to use Android devices and the Android app in order to encourage a new and improved Android app.

Well today is that day as Facebook has updated their app which is now built with Android’s native code.  The app as a whole looks nearly identical to what was previously offered but it should be much much speedier.  So now you can go about your Facebook stalking even quicker!
