Pebble has once again turned to the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter with plans to launch three new products: the Pebble Time 2, Pebble 2 and Pebble Core.
While all of them may worth your attention as Pebble Time 2 and Pebble 2 are fitness focused smartwatches that will incorporate heart rate monitors, it is worth highlighting the third one, the Pebble Core. This is a tiny, unlocked Android 5.0 computer, and a 3G connected wearable device, which Pebble describes as “a lightweight, cellular-connected clip that replaces your phone entirely. It streams music, tracks your pace, distance, and location with GPS, and can send an emergency SOS if needed.” Pebble Core will features wireless charging and a battery life of up to 9 hours.
The Pebble Time 2 is made out of stainless steel, and features an e-colour display that’s 50% larger than the original Pebble Time. It features a battery life of 10 days.
The Pebble 2 brings a better screen quality while using the same black and while e-colour displays as the original Pebble. It will also feature an anti-scratch coating, be water resistant for up to 30 metres, and incorporate a microphone and, just like the Pebble Time 2, a built-in-heart rate sensor.
The Pebble Time 2, Pebble 2 and Pebble Core are currently available on Kickstarter for $169 USD, $99 USD and $69 USD, respectively. Pebble Time 2 will reportedly start shipping in November, Pebble 2 in September, while Core will only start shipping in January 2024.
