When I was using my Galaxy S III I had exceptional battery life. I don’t think I ever had to charge it mid-day unless I had forgotten to charge it the night before. Even when I got to take advantage of the battery draining LTE on the phone, battery life was still just fine for me. However, as I’ve said before I’m a more moderate to heavy user than a true power user. Many power users I know with the SIII do indeed have to charge their phone mid-day to ensure that they make it to the end of the day.
Well perhaps this could be a solution for them. Samsung will be releasing an official extended battery for their flagship device. The battery is a massive 3000 mAh versus the original 2100mAh. To put this into perspective a bit, the Galaxy Note II utilizes a 3100mAh battery and powers a device that has nearly a full inch larger screen. So a 3000 mAh battery could go a long way in extending your day with your phone. Also included is a new back cover so that NFC capabilities aren’t lost.
This battery will set you back somewhere in the range of $60-$70 and will add some bulk and weight to your phone. However, given how thin and light the phone already is it may not be a huge inconvenience. One thing to note though is that your current cases likely won’t fit with this little package. I’ll let you know once I see these release on our shores but your best bet to get them right away is to look around online.
