Canada’s First Samsung Store Coming Soon
A couple months ago I posted about Samsung’s plans on opening up Samsung store within Canada. Some people figured we already had a couple, but they were within locations like NCIX. This is true, but this time around we are talking about a 100% independent Samsung Store, not just a little booth inside another store.
The location is in Burnaby at the Metropolis and will be a “premium retail experience” that will be fully interactive with their all their products and latest smartphones.
James Politeski, President of Samsung Canada said:
“Samsung is excited to bring a new level of retail experience to Canadians. Our vision is to provide an immersive space where consumers can interact with our products in totally new ways and enjoy unprecedented service levels.”
This comes as great news to a lot of people. We talked about this a while ago, wondering if Samsung would be selling unlocked devices at full price without being tied down to carriers.

The link above is to an article I posted just a couple days ago regarding Googles plans to release Android devices earlier to manufactures, in turn to be sold directly to the customers, cutting the middle men out of our deals (Our carriers). The opening of this Samsung Store as well as the Sony Store selling their new Xperia phones withint the Sony store itself makes me wonder if Googles plan is slowly be put into place.
I could be on to something here, or I could just have an over active imagination. I for one am keeping my fingers crossed for Google to take control of their field in Canada, rather than letting the carriers rule everything.
