Earlier this week, Bell updated their website to reveal pricing and a release date for their next Android-powered handset; the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant. The device has been officially released as of Friday, August 6 and is priced at $149.95 on a 3-year agreement ($499.95 without agreement).
The device features Android 2.1 and a new 4-inch Super AMOLED display, the latter of which has been promoted heavily by Bell. The Galaxy S Vibrant further features a 720p HD video camera and Samsung’s “Social Hub” to synchronize social media such emails, Facebook, Twitter and calendars into one integrated display.
Originally thought to be exclusive to Bell, the device may also be making its way to Virgin Mobile, a sub-brand of Bell Mobility.
The Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant has shown up in the internal Virgin Mobile training systems as a device that sales representatives are to familiarize themselves with. No information on pricing or an official release date, but Bell and Virgin have the tendency to release the same phones at the same time.
