Google Play App To Get A Redesign?

It appears that the Google Play Store could be getting a little face lift pretty soon.  What you see above is a screen shot posted onto the Google+ page of YouTube’s Eileen Rivera.  It doesn’t seem to be a complete overhaul like we had when the Android Market was transformed into the Play Store but there’s definitely some influence from the Google Now cards in the redesign.

You’ll also notice that games has its own category, whereas before it was included in the apps category.  This makes sense since games are definitely one of the biggest reasons we all head into the Play Store.

There’s no release date for the redesigned app and with Google I/O coming up pretty soon, it’s possible they will début it then.  Perhaps the entire Android UI will integrate more of the Google Now card stylings.  Only time will tell.
