Samsung has finally made their newest Galaxy Note smartphone official. The Galaxy Note 7, as they call it, is the company’s 6th Galaxy Note smartphone after the lineup’s initial release in late 2024.

So what’s new in the Galaxy Note 7? First off, the phone features an immensely beautiful 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display panel with curved edges. Next is the company’s first Iris Scanner allowing the user to unlock the phone just by looking at it. You just can’t get simpler than that. The phone also features a beautiful aluminum and glass build just like the S7 and S7 Edge. It also borrows the same f1.7 12MP rear and 5MP front camera.

Colour options include Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Black Onyx and Silver Titanium.

Other specs include a USB C connector, 4GB of RAM, base 64GB of internal storage with microSD card expansion of up to 256GB, a larger 3,500 mAh battery with fast and wireless charging support, and a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 SoC depending on the region.

And of course, a Galaxy Note won’t be a Galaxy Note without the S-Pen and its integrated software suite. The phone comes with an improved and more responsive S-Pen capable of 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

MobileSyrup has received word from Samsung Canada regarding pricing and availability. The Note 7 will be available to purchase in Canada on August 19th for $1049.99 outright and $549.99 on a 2-year plan from Bell, Telus, Rogers, Videotron, Koodo and SaskTel. Preorders start today.
