First Two Android Wear Watches Get Torn Down – Both Will Be Easily Repairable

Gear Live Teardown

The first two Android Wear watches, the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch, are now available and as with most new technology, the guys over at iFixit have torn these beauts apart.  Based on the tear down by iFixit, both devices will be relatively easy to repair assuming you have some basic know how and the necessary tools.

You can also see in the tear downs that the number of pieces in either watch is rather limited.  Internally, it’s basically just a battery, motherboard, and the LCD.  All in all, the G Watch scored a 9/10 repairability score while the Gear Live scored a very respectable 8/10.

Hopefully none of you out there will need pull your watch apart to repair it but it’s comforting to know that it’s at least relatively straight forward if it comes to that.
