As we’ve reported previously, HTC is expected to launch a new tablet this year. Current speculation is that this tablet will be a new Nexus tablet and according to the latest rumours from evleaks, it’s going to pack some ridiculous specs.
The popular leakster evleaks recently posted the picture you see above claiming that it’s a macro shot of the HTC Volantis which is also referred to as Flounder in the image (more evidence it’s a Nexus device). In addition to the picture were a slew of specs for the unannounced tablet. According to evleaks, the device will feature a 64-bit Tegra K1 (they’re allegedly testing the Snapdragon 810 as well), a whopping 5GB RAM, 8.9″ 1680×1050 display (although the retail will ship with a 2560×1600 resolution display), 64GB internal storage, 5MP camera (retail one should come with a 8MP shooter), and the infamous HTC BoomSound speakers.
Seems a little bit over the top and too good to be true but it’s not like those type of specs would be impossible to pack into a phone. If these specs play out to be true, however, the tablet will likely carry a heftier price tag which would be very unlike previous Nexus tablets.
