The Galaxy Note 8.0, which was unveiled at MWC back in February, will soon be available for us here in Canada. Both Best Buy and Future Shop currently have the tablet up for pre-order with the launch date set at April 19, 2024. In case you’re wondering about the specs on this guy here they are:
- 8″ 1280×800 Resolution Dispaly
- 1.6 GHz Exynos Quad-Core Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB Internal Storage
- micro-SD Card Slot
- 5MP Camera
- 1.3MP Front Facing Camera
- 4600 mAh Battery
- Android 4.1
As this is part of the Note series, it will of course come with Samung’s S-Pen and the accompanying software that helps to make this more than just a tablet and into a real productivity device.
At $430, it’s definitely a little pricier than a lot of the 7 inchers on the market. However, the aforementioned S-Pen and Samsung’s customized software does set this tablet apart from the rest and makes it a little bit more than just a gaming and media device. Nevertheless, they may have made a misstep in the pricing and may need to bring it down to keep competitive.
You should also take note (no pun intended) that this is the Wi-Fi only version. There’s no news on whether or not the 3G phone capable device will be coming to Canada officially. My guess is that it probably won’t as we don’t seem to get many 3G capable tablets here in Canada but if things change we’ll be sure to pass on the word.
Any of you guys planning on grabbing one of these?
