There isn’t much time left before the official unveiling of the Sony Xperia Z1, formerly known as the Honami i1, but still rumours keep on coming, leaving very little to be known or unveiled at the official press event. So today, we have another picture of the Z1, this time featuring the metal frame that surrounds the device and clearly distinguishes the Z1 from the Xperia Z.
On the Z1 the metal frame around the device should create a more solid structure, making the device more robust, while still pleasing to the eye. It’s still unclear if the metal frame also acts as the device’s antenna as we saw on the iPhone. Whether that is the case or not, let’s just hope the device doesn’t run into the same signal issues the iPhone did.
Just in case you’ve forgotten, the Xperia Z1 is Sony’s next flagship, it should release with a 5-inch fullHD display, quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and a gorgeous 20MP G-lens camera, plus all the extra features you usually find in a top-notch device. The device is expected to be announced by Sony on the 4th of September in Berlin, so don’t forget to tune in for the little there is still to know about the upcoming flagship.
