The biggest and most important announcement of today’s Unpacked event was surely the rumoured unveiling of the Galaxy Note 3. As with the Galaxy Gear, Samsung didn’t fail us and announced the new Note device this morning in Berlin.

The Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inches Full HD Super AMOLED display, making it 0.2-inches bigger than its predecessor, while still keeping the overall size and thickness of the device. Powering the Note 3 will be either a Snapdragon 800 processor or an Exynos Octa Core, depending on the region, but both versions will be backed up by 3GB of RAM.

As rumoured the 13MP rear-facing camera will be able to shoot 4K video, though it’ll be hard to find a place to watch those videos in full quality. The device will be available in 32 or 64GB versions with a 3,200mAh battery keeping the lights on.

You’ll find Android 4.3 with TouchWiz on top, as well as a bunch of S Apps. Samsung has added new apps and features in an effort to get the user to take full advantage of the S Pen.

Design-wise the Note 3 is a bit squarish, as opposed to previous Galaxy devices, and on the back, instead of glossy plastic you’ll find an unusual faux leather texture with fine stitching. Though quirky, it will definitely please to some.

The Galaxy Note 3 will be available in certain markets by September 25th, but for now you can see more photos of the device on the gallery below and don’t forget to leave your opinion on the new design language that Samsung is going with on the Note line.
