Rogers To Sell The Moto X For $550 Outright

Rogers Moto X Pricing

The Moto X had a lot of hype surrounding it before it was announced.  One of the things that really caught everyone’s attention prior to launch was the possibility of a Nexus-like price tag.  Sadly, the price tag was not as low as we all hoped but instead, the device was said to launch with a more typical flagship price tag.  That essentially meant $150-$200 on contract and $600-$700 outright.

Well we finally have some concrete prices for the Moto X thanks to an internal doc that was leaked over on MobileSyrup.  According to the doc, Rogers, the exclusive carrier of the Moto X, will be selling the phone for$189.99 on a 2-year contract (no more 3-years…for better or worse) and $549.99 outright.

Still a rather high price tag but the outright price is actually lower than what I thought it would be.  I was expecting it to be $600-$650 outright.  Nevertheless I still think it’s too high and I’m still hoping that Google will step in and sell it at a subsidized price through their Play Store.  I’m probably going to have to wait a while for that…

Any of you guys planning on picking this up?
