Rogers Samsung Galaxy S II LTE Pre-Orders start shipping, Officially Released Next Week

I was on the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE road for a while, but recently cancelled my pre-order due to lack of coverage and price hikes. If you havent already sold your heart to the upcoming Galaxy Nexus, this may come as great news for you.

As of a couple days ago, Rogers has been shipping some of the pre-ordered phones slightly earlier than the actual release date. They have very limited supply for early delivery, so if you are one of the ones who pre-ordered, keep your fingers crossed. Word around the net is that some very lucky customers have actually received their phones already, but I cannot confirm that.

Regardless, still good news of those of who are gunning for this phone. Rogers also released the following comment:

We’re also excited to confirm that we’ll continue to fulfill orders for the device as early as next week and expect to have enough devices for everyone in the reservations system.

Just a heads up for the early adopters. Currently the LTE service is only available in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa. The coverage is very small, so surrounding citys and towns are not likely covered. On top of the limited coverage, you will need to change your SIM card to a LTE compatible SIM, as well as change your data plan to a LTE data plan. This is going to suck for people who have discounted plans, will have to make the hard choice to pay the higher price for LTE, or fight for a new discounted plan.

I extend my thanks to Jason on this article.
