Rogers Discontinues the Samsung Nexus S

Samsung Nexus S already being kicked out the door by Rogers, perhaps other carriers to follow soon?

This is the second Pure Google phone and it’s been one of the most successful Android devices. Now, just a few months later and with more powerful phones on their way, we’ve found that Rogers has officially placed this touchscreen device on its discontinued list and have started to sell off their inventory. This is still currently available online and through various retailers. I find this very confusing as they still readily offer much older phones than the Nexus S.

Rogers has been the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Android phones for quite a while, now Rogers is prepping to unload a few high-end devices, most notably the LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy S II. With the discontinuation of the Nexus S so quickly, one might think all these rumour of Nexus Prime might be true and heading to Rogers real soon

What is your take on all this?

Do you think Rogers is discontinuing the Nexus S due to upcoming phones, or perhaps known issues with the phone are causing them to push it off the shelve a little fast? Let us know what you think.
