OnePlus CEO Says The “Two” Will Surprise

Despite some minor setbacks, OnePlus had a pretty successful début in 2024 and now many are eagerly anticipating what they have in store for 2024.  OnePlus CEO, Carl Pei, recently did a quick interview with Android Headlines in which he revealed some details of OnePlus’ plans.

While he didn’t provide and concrete details regarding the sequel, Pei stated that the display size has been changed several times already.  Current speculation is that OnePlus will go with a smaller screen size this time around but, again, that wasn’t confirmed by Pei.  Pei did say that the final product will “surprise people” which, while rather vague, sounds promising.

In terms of a release window, Pei said that that had also been changed several times internally.  He says that as things stand right now, they’re aiming for Q2 or Q3 of this year which is quite a large window.

Although news of the OnePlus Two was definitely the highlight of the interview, Pei did divulge some other information as well.  Tablets are not, and seemingly never will be, in OnePlus’ plans due to the lack of profit they generate.  Wearables, on the other hand, do seem to be on the table and they may have some prototypes in place but the future of those remains unknown.  Finally, when asked about StyleSwap covers for the OnePlus Two, Pei simply stated that Bamboo covers for the OnePlus One are once again available as they have just manufactured another 10 000 of them (I thought manufacturing for these had been stopped?!?).

So there you have it.  It seems like OnePlus has no plans of slowing down and the start up company will continue to push forward with top tier devices that are reasonably priced.
