OnePlus 5 Lands with Great Specs But Not So Affordable Price

The next-generation flagship killer, the OnePlus 5 has arrived. With so much hype building around the phone in the last weeks, we couldn’t wait to lay our eyes on the new product. And at first glance, the OnePlus 5 bares a great similitude to the iPhone 7 Plus.

At least from the back. It has the dual-camera, flash and antenna lines placed in the same position as on Apple’s larger flagship. Even the OnePlus logo seems to be positioned in the same area as the Apple.

Anyway, the OnePlus 5 comes with a list of pretty hefty improvements over its predecessor, but it also costs more. But first let’s take a look at the specs shall we?

OnePlus 5 specs:

While the OnePlus 5 is slimmer than its 7.3 mm predecessor, it also offers a smaller battery compared to the 3,400 mAh power house inside the OnePlus 3T. Luckily the producing company assures us that thanks to the more power efficient chipset and other optimizations, the OnePlus 5 will be able to deliver up to 20% more battery life.

The phone will be sold in Canada and will be compatible with all networks in the country including Rogers, Fido, Bell, Virgin Mobile, Telus, Koodo, Videotron and Freedom Mobile.

The standard “Slate Gray” with 6GB/64GB will be avaialable for $649 CAD, while the 8GB/128GB version in “Midnight Black” will sell for $712 CAD.

OnePlus will open up orders to all customers on June 27.
