No HTC One Max For Canada

No HTC One Max

Sad news phablet fans.  After sharing with you yesterday about the HTC One Max, I heard back from our HTC contact who informed me that Canada is not one of the destinations for HTC’s upcoming phablet.  This disappointing news was followed up by a statement from HTC that was sent to MobileSyrup:

HTC devices differ from country to country, we work closely with carrier partners in each region to determine what is best for their consumers. Every market is different and has specific needs and demands. We consider a number of factors such as, the HTC devices currently available, the competition etc. At this time the current HTC line up of devices is sufficient for the Canadian marketplace.”

Now I’m not sure which Canada they’re thinking of, but as far as I can tell, HTC doesn’t have much of a line up in the Canadian marketplace right now.  Take a quick stroll over Big 3′s respective websites, Rogers.com, Bell.ca, and Telus.com, and you’ll see that that “sufficient” line up consists of the HTC One and HTC 8X.  Of course, there may be some low end HTC phones kicking around still and even some old flagships, but those aren’t really in their line up anymore.  Those phones are just leftover stock.

Of course, things can change (and lets hope they do) but as of right now, HTC has undoubtedly left some Canadians a little bit (or a lot bit!) disappointed.
