Despite Samsung’s incredible popularity, their devices and their software have become a little bit stale as of late. According to all the rumours, Samsung is going to reboot the physical design of their phones a little bit this year as they are expected to utilize metal for the frame for the first time. But according to this latest leak by @evleaks, Samsung could also be rebooting TouchWiz this year.
We’ve already seen the new Magazine UI that Samsung is utilizing on their new PRO line of tablets and it appears that same style of UI will also be shrunk down for their upcoming phones as well. As you can see, the manufacturer icons have been redone and more closely resemble the icons found in KitKat. The middle page also looks like it’s something new altogether. To me, it looks like some sort of mash up of FlipBoard, Google Now and BlinkFeed.
Of course there is the possibility that this is a fake and should be completely disregarded but @evleaks has a pretty good track record so I’m not completely writing it off quite yet. I’m sure we’ll know soon enough whether or not this is the future of Samsung’s UI.
