Yesterday we shared some pictures with you guys of a mysterious Samsung phone that had surfaced online. As we said yesterday, there was no indication at all as to what the device was. We weren’t sure if it was a future device or simply some prototype that was kicking around at Samsung.
Well today we have some new news regarding that strange device. According to an inside source that is in contact with reputable site SamMobile. the rectangular device was a developer prototype of the soon to be released Galaxy S IV. The picture you see above was passed on by that inside source to support the fact that he/she knows what they’re talking about.
So where does that leave us now? Well I would have to say we’re in the same place we were in when this story started: speculating and wondering what Samsung has in store for us next. Even though we now know that the mystery device is not a redesigned Note, it doesn’t mean that Samsung isn’t still planning to redesign the Note. HTC and Sony really pushed the envelope this year when it comes to the look and style of their devices. So despite the Samsung’s past success, they need to really wow people with both the functionality and the design. The S IV excelled with it’s new feature set but the lack of design change left many wanting more so perhaps they’ll really bring the wow factor with the next Note.
