As the recent launch of the LG Enact proves, Verizon still believes there is a market for smartphones with slide-out keyboards, for those out there who just can’t seem to get used to the virtual keyboard. Now, leaked images show what seems to be a new QWERTY slider for the Verizon Droid line. The leaked photos show a slider with Motorola and Verizon branding.
The leaked phone should supposedly feature a shock, water and dust-resistant design, a 4.3-4.5-inch display and NFC support. One of the photos shows the back of the phone partially disassembled revealing wireless charging hardware, so we can assume that’s on the spec sheet. As opposed to what you find on the latest Droid phones, this slider uses capacitive buttons and the leaked shot shows it might be running older software.
If the leaked images are to be believed the “Droid 5″ could be released nearly a year and half after the last Droid slider. However, this could be just a prototype of something that will never hit the market. What do you make of this? Let us know in the comments below.
