The latest flagship smartphone to make it to Canada is the HTC U Ultra. The phone was announced a few months ago and now customers in Canada can grab it from the company’s own online store in black, white and blue versions.
However, be prepared to spend a significant amount of cash on the phone. The unlocked version can be yours for a non-negligible $999 CAD. The good news is that if you add a pair of JBL Reflect Aware C headphones, you’ll be able to get them for half the price – $134.99 CAD instead of the usual $269 CAD.
In case you forgot, the HTC U Ultra packs a 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 2560-pixel resolution, as well as a secondary 2-inch screen with 160 x 1040 resolution for notifications and additional info.
The HTC U Ultra uses a Snapdragon 821 to sustain life onboard, as well as 4GB of RAM. In Canada customers can purchase the device with 64GB of internal storage, but a microSD card slot is also available for further memory increase up to 2TB.
The HTC U Ultra carriers a 12MP main camera with OIS, laser and phased detection autofocus and a 16MP selfie snapper. The phablet is the first phone in the company’s portfolio to come with HTC’s Sense Companion – its own AI-driven assistant.
On paper the phone sounds quite nice, but are you willing to pay $999 CAD for it?
