As consumers, we love choice. The ability to pick and choose different aspects of your phone seems like a brilliant idea and although we’re not quite at the point of modular phones, Oppo is still going to be giving us some choice on their upcoming N3.
As we have already reported, Oppo will be using an aerospace grade aluminum lithium alloy for the frame of their upcoming phablet but it looks like we’ll also have a second option for the frame. According to the picture and accompanying post on Oppo Malaysia’s page, the N3 will also be available in Stainless Steel! While the Aluminum Lithium Alloy will offer a nice light weight option, the Stainless Steel should provide an even more rigid frame.
While it may seem strange to make two different models of the same phone, it wouldn’t be the first time for Oppo. This past year they launched the Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a with the big difference between the two being the screen resolution. It’ll be interesting to see if they further diversify the upcoming N3 in a similar way.
