Although Apple wasn’t the first, ever since Apple brought TouchID to the iPhone other manufacturers have been trying to pack their own fingerprint readers into their devices. Android’s biggest gun, Samsung, is no exception but their first go round with the added security feature was decent at best. The swipe style reader on the S5 was rather inconsistent and required you to swipe almost exactly the same way you did when programming the feature.
Well thankfully Samsung has greatly improved the fingerprint reader with the S6 and S6 Edge as they have switched over to a touch based technology. As you can see in the video above, the guys over at Phandroid put the new reader to the test and it performs quite well. They definitely had a little trouble with the initial set up but once the phone had recorded the print things were pretty darn smooth.
It’s a shame they didn’t bring this to the Note 4 as well…
