Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone Arrives at Telus This Summer (Update: It’s Here)

Have you been left yearning about Andy Rubin’s gorgeous looking Essential phone? Well the good news is that the phone will soon be offered in Canada.

While Rubin’s startup partnered up with Sprint to offer the phone in the US, in Canada the company will also rely on a carrier partner to sell the device. The nation’s third largest carrier, Telus already announced the Essential phone will be available in Canada this summer.

Interested parties can already pre-register to buy the device. However, pricing has yet to be unveiled, although Telus notes customers will be able to pre-order a model starting the end of July. The phone will be available to purchase both from in-store locations and online.

To refresh your mind, the Essential phone arrives with a 5.71-inch display which spreads all the way to the top embracing the frontal selfie camera. Like most flagships released today, Andy Rubin’s baby relies on a Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.35 GHz. The product also carriers 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Similar to the camera found on the Huawei P10, the Essential boasts a dual camera assembly that pairs two 13-megapixel sensors, one monochrome and one RGB.

On top of everything, the Essential can also be paired with modular accessories. The first one from the series is a 4K 360-degree camera that snaps to the back of the phone.
