Getting Lollipop running on your flagship device is a big focus these days and as expected, Motorola is one of the first to the party once again. Motorola sent out a soak test to select users late last week and, as you might expect, the developer community has made it available to the masses. The guys over at Droid-Life have picked up this soak test build and have thrown together a fairly extensive video walk through for everyone’s viewing pleasure!
In the video you’ll get a look at all the new Lollipop features as well as the new Motorola features. As you all know by now, Motorola leaves Android as is and adds their unique touches via apps. I really prefer this mode of operation as it allows for much quicker system level and feature updates! I’m hoping that more and more manufacturers will go this route in the future as it seems to offer the best experience for the end user; however, some of these manufacturers seem pretty set on doing things their way.
Now before you go flashing software on your Moto X you should know that this is only for the Pure Edition. Flashing this on anything besides that version of the phone will likely result in you bricking your phone. So read carefully and tread wisely.
