So Jellybean WILL BE Android 4.1

I was in the camp that JellyBean would be a 5.0 release.  I didn’t like the name changing within a version (1.5/1.6 = cupcake / donut; 2.1/2.2/2.3 = eclair/froyo/gingerbread …).

I was hoping that name changes would be like Honeycomb (3.0, 3.1, 3.2) and Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.4…).

But it looks like the rumour mill has something to share, and I think it’s made a believer out of me.

When JellyBean will be released (possibly at Google I/O next week), it will be version 4.1

Not saying it’s 100% proven, but 2 screenshots of folks trying to buy the phone on the Play Store (which we can’t buy in Canada still) I think is enough for me.

That aside… what do you think 4.1 will bring?

And knowing that it will work on the Nexus, we can start putting bets on when your phone will get it (I’ll have to make up a new database)… or will I leave CM9 to go to ‘stock’?

tick tock… less than a week away!
