Since the official release of OS 4.0.4 for the GSM Galaxy Nexus, people were scrambling to jump on the latest and greatest. Sadly they soon found out that perhaps they would have been better off being happy where they were.
The latest update for Google’s flagship phone leaves the device on Android 4.0.4, but ups the build number to IMM76I, from the older IMM76D. As for what’s actually new, some Galaxy Nexus owners are reporting that this fixes the intermittent signal loss issue that’d been affecting some on IMM76D, as well as remedying smaller issues like occasional lock screen lag when using automatic brightness.
This is no different from any other OTA update we’ve seen on the Nexus devices. Some may get it as early as tomorrow or mid next week, where others may have to wait til the month of May before they receive theirs. Also what Carrier you’re on may also play a factor on how quickly you’re OTA will be pushed to you.
I posted earlier a few tips that could help you get that OTA pushed through to your device early. Many people reported back with success after trying the method one or multiple times. If you want to try it for yourself, you can find those tips within my article here.
Good Luck Everyone!
