Wunderlist Reaches 1 Million Downloads in the Google Play Store

iconThe folks over at 6Wunderkinder are having a bit of a celebration today as one of their apps has reached a pretty significant milestone. Wunderlist, the to-do and task list app has reached a substantial 1 million downloads in the Google Play store. Wunderlist was the first natively built app developed for Android by the team and has grown to be one of the most popular to-do apps on Google Play.

Wunderlist’s success can be attributed to a beautiful design that is very effective and easy to use as well as its cross platform capabilities allowing you to keep the same lists and tasks on multiple devices. It has been my choice as a to-do list manager for quite some time and I have had a hard time finding a replacement that is equal to the task, plus it is free!

As a thank you for their success the development team has thought up a way to give back to the Android community. To celebrate this milestone they have decided to officially open source the code that provides the remarkably smooth transition between slides when the detail view transitions in and out as shown in the video below. This will allow other android developers to incorporate this design into their own apps which is a pretty significant gesture that will surely enhance consumer experiences as well.

You can find all the details on the milestone how to get the source code if you are interested here.
