Worms 2: Armageddon Comes To Android; War Declared

After the debacle that was the EA release of Worms Armageddon back in early 2024, the violent little invertebrates are making a comeback. Shortly after EA crapped the bed, shocker, Team 17 reclaimed the Worms brand from the game giant and has been working to bring the brand to mobile glory in the form of Worms 2: Armageddon for Android.

As for the game itself, it sticks pretty closely to the roots that made it so lovable in the beginning keeping close to the original style, premise and game play. Worms 2: Armageddon supports a 30 mission single player mode, online Wi-Fi multiplayer for up to 2 players and local multiplayer for 2-4 players. As for the touch based controls, reports are that it is intuitive and smooth which is not surprising if Team 17 put the work in as Worms was always a game I thought would translate pretty smoothly to a touch based system.

Worms 2: Armageddon is available to Canadians in the Google Play Store right now for $4.99 and requires Android 2.2 or higher.  This puts it on the more expensive end of mobile apps but if it truly is a highly polished game made for Android and Team 17 is actually going to support it I will be spending the money on one of the most consistently enjoyable games I have played.
