No Nokia Android Phones, But Nokia Maps For Android In The Works

A couple of days ago we posted that there was a possibility that Nokia could finally be changing their tune a bit and could be developing an Android powered device.  The rumour started up as Nokia listed an ad for a Linux expert.

However, today Nokia has crushed our dreams about a possible Nokia phone stating that they will not be making any Android powered devices.  Instead, Nokia is working on bringing their Maps app to Android and IOS.  I have to say that’s a strange move as both Android and IOS already have their own mapping solutions in Google Maps and Apple Maps respectively.  In my opinion, this seems like a waste of time and resource as I can’t see many people jumping from the default mapping systems for something else.

I feel like Nokia maps will have to bring something really mind blowing out in order to convert the average consumers.
