The advent of the ebook has made it easier than ever to get in a good read but trying to read on a screen, particular at night, can be hard on the eyes. Well here comes Google to the rescue! Google has just announced a new feature to their Play Books app that will make it easier on the eyes when reading on your favourite mobile device.
The new feature is called Night Light and when turned on, it will automatically adjust the colours on the screen based on the time of day. More specifically, “Night Light gradually filters blue light from your screen, replacing it with a warm, amber light as the sun sets.”
I gave the feature a quick whirl not really expecting too much but it really does make a difference even in the short time I spent trying it out. The feature is currently rolling out through an app update but it is coming out gradually so you may not see it right away.
