Electronic Arts today released an Android-friendly version of the Simpsons: Tapped Out on the Google Play store. The game is completely free at the time of writing.
For those of you who regretfully own iOS devices, this game may not be so new to you as it was first released on Apple’s devices last year, and has been a huge success. It seems rather silly that companies are still not releasing apps and games on multiple operating systems at the same time, but that discussion is for another day.
The game itself resembles a more complex version of one of those Farmville-type Facebook games. The story begins as Homer is playing a similar style of game on his tablet, meanwhile forgetting his job responsibilities, causing a complete meltdown at the Springfield nuclear power plant, destroying everything we hold precious about the city whose state will remain nameless. Your job as Homer is to rebuild the city from scratch and find what has happened to Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. In truth, it seems like a Simpsons version of the Sims, but I haven’t been able to put it down since I downloaded it an hour ago.
For those that would like to see what the game looks like before downloading it, check out the video below. Otherwise, go download this free game at the Play store here.
