This is the conclusion of my previous post, Motorola Xoom vs Galaxy Tab 10.1 which can be found HERE
For starters I would like to thank everyone for their opinions and suggestions on the comparison of these two tablets. I took all the data along with my own personal taste, on which I selected the Motorola Xoom. The Motorola Xoom is not fresh on the market, but this is the first time I have owned an Android Tablet, so I would like to submit my own personal review here today.
If you followed the previous post of Motorola Xoom vs Galaxy Tab 10.1 you can see I was comparing them together, reaching out for advice on which one to pick. In this review I will explain what caught my eye and why my ultimate decision was the Motorola Xoom.
Motorola Xoom specs:
- 10.1 inch screen with 800 x 1280 pixels, 16M colors
- 16/32/64GB storage
- 1GB Ram
- NOT 3g capable
- MicroSD Expandable up to 32Gb
- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi hotspot
- V2.1 Bluetooth
- 5MP Camera + LED flash
- 2MP Front camera
- Android OS, v3.0 (Honeycomb)
- 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H Dual Core processor
- Battery Standby up to 336 hours
Having the same company making the accessories for their own product, rather then relying on 3rd party companies is a huge plus. Not only do they fit and work better, normally they are a higher quality as well. Of course so is the price in most cases.
The standard charging dock was a clear winner in my books, as I baby my electronics and hate laying them down on the table. The only bad side to this dock is that it has no syncing capabilities, but in the end who really uses wires anymore? The real Android users know it’s all about the wireless sync, so this doesn’t come as to much of hindrance.
Combining these two accessories together makes them sing in perfect harmony.
The over all operation of this tablet is snappy, fast, and again very eye pleasing. The lack of updates as a couple people had mentioned was defiantly a concern, but as long as the tablet functions well as it is I see no need to rush updates at this point. With future MicroSD Card support, this going to play a key roll in sharing data from Phone to Tablet to friends/Co-workers.
Motorola Xoom’s dual-band Wifi was another plus in my eyes.
These are the primary reasons which influenced my decision to buy the Motorola Xoom and concludes my review. Once agian, I extend my thanks to all those who participated in offering their opinions and advice to help with this decision.
